Here you'll find answers to the most frequently asked questions (in alphabetical order). You'll need this info during the festival!
BARS
We have several bars at the festival area. All the bars are licenced for selling also strong alcohol, and are not allowed for people under 18 years. You will need an official ID-card, driving license or passport to prove your age in order to get in the bars.
BUSES
The festival buses drive between the railway station, festival site and the furthest camping areas every 15-20 minutes. Check the accurate route from the festival map (map will be found also from this page later on).
BRIDGES
The bridges on the festival area are narrow and easily congested. Therefore loitering on the bridges and sitting on the parapets is strictly forbidden! Please cross the bridges swiftly and smoothly and do not use bridge areas as meeting places.
There's also an extra bridge on the northern side of the area to ease the crowds.
CAMP FIRES
Fires are allowed only at the special, marked camp fire places.
CASH DISPENSERS AND BANKCARDS
The nearest cash dispenser is situated in the Törnävä on Vuoritie (about 700 metres from the East entrance, former Osuuspankki office), but this cash dispenser will most likely run out of money during the weekend. About 1 kilometre from the West entrance is another cash dispenser (Koskenlantie 5). There are normal bank services in the Seinäjoki centre (about 4 kilometres from the festival area). Banks close at 4.30 pm on Friday and are closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
The bars at the festival area accept the most common credit cards and bankcards. Most shops on the festival area do not accept bankcards or credit cards, so remember to take cash with you.
ENTRANCES
Please note that there are also other entrances than the crowded East entrance. Especially if you stay at Kyrkösjärvi camping, the West entrance is much closer. If you take a taxi from the city to the festival area, you should also use the West entrance.
GARBAGE AND RECYCLING
TAKE ALL GARBAGE TO GARBAGE BINS, PLEASE!
How tidy and pleasurable the Festival site is, depends on the behaviour of the festival crowd. You make a big difference by sorting out and disposing of your garbage.
Every garbage bin at the festival site has two sections: one for mixed garbage and the other for incinerable waste , i.e. waste that can be burned. Waste boxes are clearly marked. Pints and other disposable dishes are incinerable waste. Recycling boxes for glass and metal are situated in the S-market store's yard. Camping areas have their own recycling centres. Please take the empty bottles etc. that you find to festival area's bottle collectors / bottle collecting point. There you may also leave all the hazardous waste, ie. batteries.
Breaking a bottle is a dreadful crime, and those guilty of it will be put in stocks... So please dispose your garbage properly everywhere and every time!
Green'n'Clean Provinssirock!
The Green’n’Clean Award distinguishes environment-friendly festivals. This initiative guarantees that measures to save energy and protect our natural resources are implemented and openly discussed.
Music festivals have a huge impact on the environment. Traffic, noise, water, greenhouse-gas emissions, waste – these are just a couple of side-effects of a fun music festival. We believe that by keeping the best possible care of nature, we can provide the maximum of pleasure to our customers. With sustainable development, everyone wins!
Provinssirock has a goal – to minimize its ecological foot print.
Our green steps include recycling & waste management, minimizing the amount of waste, making public transport available, encouraging the discussion on the green life style, using renewable materials in our merchandise (old wristbands, t-shirts etc.), producing our electricityneeds with near by streaming river and lake, to name a few. All these activities help us make our festival healthier and ecologically sound.
We here at Provinssirock are very proud to be a Green’n’Clean festival. We can’t save the earth and the nature by ourselves, we need help to reach our goal. Communicating these values and efforts to the audience and to the sponsors is the key to being green and clean.
We all have to work together in order to make an impact.
The Green’n’Clean Award was developed by Yourope – The European Festival Association. You can read more about Green’n’Clean at www.yourope.org.

Only official identity cards with a picture are accepted at the bars.

RECORDING
Taking photos is allowed on the festival site. We hold the right to certain changes and restrictions, which will be informed of in advance.
Bringing any kind of recorders and video cameras to the festival site is strictly forbidden. Please leave them at home or in the luggage deposits. Illegal audio and video recording of the performances is forbidden. (Copyright law 2. and 45. section). Security staff and representatives of the bands have a right to confiscate the recording and remove the recording person from the site.
Recordings are being made on the stages.
Any person appearing on these recordings gives up all rights to the recording side.
RESTAURANT SERVICES
The catering services are located mainly on the northern end of the site, opposite the Mainland Stage. There you'll find an ample choice of foods and drinks. We also have several bar areas with an age limit of 18 years ( More info on "Bars").
SAFETY
It is absolutely forbidden to bring any glass bottles, plastic bottles, cans, weapons or hard objects to the festival site! Arrangements have been made to avoid accidents caused by broken glass, to increase tidiness and the public well-being. Tightened contractual terms with the artists have lead to this solution.
Thieves have perfect working conditions in big happenings like festivals. Take good care of your property. Do not leave anything you do not want to lose in the camping tent. Keep your valuables in the luggage deposits (situated by the entrances) or carry them with you at all times. Don't even take anything priceless with you to the festival.
You and others
Many leading festivals of Europe have decided to ban crowd surfing. This will be the practice in Provinssirock too. We want to avoid risks and ease possible congestion with the help of stage barriers. At the same time we sincerely hope that people will enjoy themselves and that everyone can leave the festival with positive memories. The organiser holds the right to remove persons endangering others with their behaviour from the festival site.
Take care of yourself and your friends. Remember: Abandonment is a CRIME. You influence on the general atmosphere of the festival with your own behaviour. Keep in mind that Provinssirock has through the years been characterised as "The festival for the people". BUT: If you cause disorder or are a danger to the fellow man, the security staff has the right to remove you from the festival site.
If you feel uncomfortable in cramped places, avoid tight crowds. By the nearest barrier from the stage, pressure can change quickly, especially in the case of the Mainland Stage. Think before you act.
SWIMMING
A river runs through the festival site. Swimming in the river is recommended only on the proper beaches, because there are a lot of stones in the river. Avoid swimming in the stony parts, and if you see a drunken person in the river, grab him/her back on the shore!
